Climate Week NYC 2024: Fighting Food Loss & Waste for a Resilient Future

Champions 12.3 hosted its 2024 Climate Week NYC event on September 24, 2024. The event brought together approx. 150 high-level attendees from across government, business, academia, philanthropy and civil society.

The group released its 2024 Progress Report on the state of global action toward UN SDG 12.3 as well as announced the founding cohort of 10 x 20k x 30, an initiative first mentioned at our 2023 event. 10 x 20k x 30 is an effort by 10+ of the world’s leading farm-gate facing agriculture companies to each engage 20,000 of their farmer suppliers in halving food losses by 2030.

The 2024 event therefore focused on insights from the private sector for what’s working to reduce food loss and waste, as well as how we can ramp up private sector investment to drive country-level action. We were honored to feature a terrific line up of speakers from Tesco, IKEA, Carnival Corp., Kellanova, Olam Group, FAO, ETG, Sereni Fries, ITC, World Bank, AGRA, the Global Food Cold Chain Council, and World Resources Institute.
