Champions 12.3 Assembly

The Champions 12.3 Assembly convenes countries and non-state actors (e.g., major food companies, associations) that are enthusiastic about reducing food loss and waste. The Assembly is focused on converting ambition on food loss and waste reduction into tangible action during this critical decade.

Champions 12.3 invites countries and companies that want to take the next steps on the journey toward food loss and waste reduction to join the Assembly. To express interest, click here

The Assembly provides members with an efficient opportunity to:

  • Inspire ambition and dedication to implementing the “Target-Measure-Act” approach to food loss and waste reduction;
  • Learn from Champions, experts, and from each other about successful approaches, roadmaps, strategies, and tactics to reduce food loss and waste;
  • Build own capacity for food loss and waste reduction implementation;
  • Connect with new partners to implement food loss and waste reduction efforts; and
  • Act and share results.

Convenings
The Assembly began meeting in November 2021 to build off the momentum of the UN's Food Systems Summit and start addressing the important “next step” questions countries and companies are facing when it comes to proactively reducing food loss and waste.

It convenes throughout the calendar year (always with a virtual option). The Assembly is responsive to member needs, agile, and focused on impact.
