The purposes of DCCEEW are to drive Australian climate action; transform Australia’s energy system to support net zero emissions while maintaining its affordability, security and reliability; conserve, protect, and sustainably manage Australia’s environment and water resources through a nature positive approach; protect Australia’s cultural heritage; and contribute to international progress on these issues.
