Sid Mehta is a global leader in transforming food systems to advance sustainability, equity, and prosperity. As the Founder and CEO of Greenworks Inc., he drives climate-smart strategies that mobilize public-private partnerships and deliver actionable impact across agriculture, nutrition, and circular economy domains. He is also the Co-Founder of Nihkhah, a pioneering initiative rooted in Indigenous food knowledge, dedicated to advancing reconciliation and sustainability through institutional food transformation.
With over two decades of experience spanning industry, government, and academia, Sid is a trusted advisor and coalition builder. He has shaped multi-stakeholder initiatives at the United Nations, World Food Forum, COP, and Climate Week NYC, and has led efforts to reduce food waste and accelerate the adoption of sustainable proteins and regenerative agriculture.
Sid previously held senior leadership roles with Compass Group Canada, Emerging Ag Inc., and Simon Fraser University, where he founded the Climate Action Labs. He currently leads climate action initiatives with NACAS, reaching over 5 billion meals annually, and serves on the boards and advisory groups of Food for Climate League, Climate Bonds Initiative, and Food Tank’s Academic Working Group. As an adjunct faculty member at UBC, he mentors future leaders in ESG and global food systems. A Champion 12.3, Sid is committed to halving food loss and waste by 2030 through bold action, systems thinking, and inclusive leadership.
